Job Description:

The Heat Press Operator is a key member of our production team, responsible for accurately and efficiently operating heat press machinery to apply designs onto various apparel items. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong spatial judgment, and a commitment to producing high-quality finished goods. The Heat Press Operator also plays an active role in peer-to-peer quality checks, ensuring the overall excellence of our products. This role is on 1st shift, 7AM-3:30PM.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL INCLUDE:

  • Garment Preparation & Pressing:
     

    • Receive pre-batched orders from the Marrying Associate, ensuring all components are present and accounted for.

    • Accurately and quickly load garments onto heat press platens, ensuring they are straight, even, and properly positioned for pressing.

    • Precisely place the material application onto the garment according to job order specifications and required standards, ensuring correct orientation and alignment.

    • Operate heat press machinery safely and efficiently to apply designs, adhering to specific time, temperature, and pressure settings for various materials.

    • Maintain a consistent and steady work pace to meet daily production expectations, prioritizing quality and accuracy over speed.

  • Quality Assurance & Collaboration:
     

    • Perform thorough quality checks on pressed garments, inspecting for any imperfections, misalignments, or defects in the application.

    • Actively participate in peer-to-peer quality verification, checking and verifying the work of fellow Heat Press Operators to ensure consistent quality across all products.

    • Collaborate with team members, offering assistance and a "second set of eyes" when questions arise or additional review is needed.

    • Communicate any discrepancies, defects, or issues to the Team Lead promptly.

    • Work in a friendly and supportive team environment, assisting coworkers to achieve shared production goals.

  • Workspace Maintenance:
     

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the workday, adhering to all company cleanliness and safety standards.

    • Support general housekeeping tasks within the production department as needed.

  • Tool & Skill Application:
     

    • Utilize measuring tools (e.g., rulers, measuring tapes) to ensure precise placement of applications when necessary.

    • Apply strong eye judgment to determine correct application placement and garment loading.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Prior experience in a production or manufacturing environment, preferred.

  • Demonstrated strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial judgment.

  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.

  • Familiarity with measuring tools and their application.

  • Ability to work at a consistent and steady pace.

  • Strong collaborative spirit and ability to work effectively in a team.

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.

  • Basic understanding of quality control principles.
