About the Role:
The Tax Preparer plays a critical role in ensuring clients comply with federal, state, and local tax regulations by accurately preparing and filing tax returns. This position involves analyzing financial statements and tax documents to develop effective tax plans that minimize liabilities while adhering to current tax laws. The Tax Preparer will work closely with individuals, partnerships, and businesses to provide tailored tax advice and support during audits. A key outcome of this role is to deliver timely and precise tax services that enhance client satisfaction and maintain regulatory compliance. Ultimately, the Tax Preparer contributes to the financial well-being of clients by optimizing their tax positions and mitigating risks associated with tax filings.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Proven experience in preparing individual and business tax returns.
- Strong knowledge of federal and state tax laws and regulations.
- Familiarity with partnership tax filings and related compliance requirements.
- Ability to analyze financial statements and tax documents accurately.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively advise and interact with clients.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification as an Enrolled Agent (EA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or equivalent.
- Experience with tax audit processes and client representation before tax authorities.
- Proficiency in tax preparation software and financial management tools.
- Background in business services or accounting firms.
- Advanced training or coursework in tax planning and compliance.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and file accurate federal, state, and local tax returns for individuals, partnerships, and businesses.
- Analyze financial statements and tax documents to identify applicable deductions, credits, and tax planning opportunities.
- Advise clients on tax strategies and compliance requirements to optimize their tax outcomes.
- Assist clients in responding to tax audits and inquiries from tax authorities.
- Stay current with changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance and provide informed guidance.
