Summary

As part of the Ministry Operations team, the Maintenance Lead (ML) is responsible for preventative maintenance, managing work orders, and coordinating and maintaining relationships with vendors during general maintenance and routine upkeep of The Austin Stone facilities and equipment. The ML resolves problems as they arise. The Maintenance Lead will report directly to the Maintenance Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Ensure operational efficiency of electrical equipment, plumbing and mechanical systems through timely inspection and repair, troubleshooting systems as needed.
  • Manage Work Order systems to ensure assignment, timely closure, and proper execution.
  • Work with staff, tenants, and building users to troubleshoot issues and address any building concerns.
  • Assist with project planning and execution.
  • Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve issues. 
  • Implement and execute preventative maintenance plans.  
  • Build and maintain long term relationships with contractors and service providers
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation for Sunday services.
  • Attend all required events and activities for The Austin Stone, including all staff meetings, prayer meetings, special events, etc.

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, Bachelor’s degree, preferred
  • 2 years experience as a Maintenance Lead, Building Engineer, or equivalent role
  • Hands on experience in planning maintenance operations
  • General carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing knowledge and skills
  • Ability to read blueprints
  • Familiarity with spreadsheets, project management tools, and building safety

Proven troubleshooting skills. Able to successfully develop new and better ways to work and promote a continuous improvement mentality.

Collaboration - Collaborate across the organization and with various ministry partners. Exemplifies and defends the Doctrines, Convictions, Philosophies, and Strategies of The Austin Stone Community Church as outlined in our Culture documents.

  • Occasional lifting of objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing and pulling.
