Job Overview
The Group Lead for Systems Engineering and Test provides strategic and technical leadership for the development, integration, and verification of complex systems. This role combines hands-on engineering expertise with strong leadership to guide a multidisciplinary team in delivering high-quality, high performance systems. The Group Lead collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration, efficient testing, and alignment with program objectives, while managing schedules, resources, and technical execution.
Essential Functions
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers specializing in systems engineering and test.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee requirements definition, analysis, traceability, and management to ensure alignment with customer and program goals.
- Develop system architectures and design solutions that ensure scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
- Maintain configuration control and manage system and subsystem interfaces across development teams.
- Plan and execute integration and test strategies, ensuring comprehensive system validation and verification.
- Lead system-level integration efforts, resolving interface, performance, and interoperability issues.
- Define and coordinate test criteria, test plans, and acceptance procedures with stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with established engineering standards, processes, and best practices.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate technical risks throughout the system lifecycle.
- Partner with program management, design teams, and external stakeholders to ensure clear communication and aligned priorities.
- Serve as a bridge between technical teams and senior leadership, providing regular updates on progress, issues, and mitigation strategies.
- Oversee quality assurance and control throughout integration and testing to meet performance, reliability, and safety objectives.
- Analyze test data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for system or process improvement.
- Prepare and present technical reports, briefings, and recommendations to stakeholders and leadership.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Regular and reliable attendance on a full-time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].

Qualifications and Competencies
- Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and lifecycle processes (e.g., requirements management, design, verification, and validation).
- Proficiency in Cameo, MATLAB, LabVIEW, or similar.
- Knowledge of integration and test processes, including hardware/software integration and performance testing.
- Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices and tools.
- Knowledge of Agile development methodologies.
- Exceptional leadership, organizational, and decision-making abilities.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing demands effectively.

Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Master’s degree is preferred.
- INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP/CSEP) or similar certifications are a plus.
Experience
- 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, integration, and testing.
- 3+ years of leadership or management experience in a technical role.
- Experience in leading integration and test activities for large-scale or complex systems.
- Experience in industries such as aerospace, defense, automotive, or telecommunications.

Security Clearance
- Ability to obtain/maintain a TS/SCI (Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information) DoD clearance.
- A Secret clearance (at minimum) is required prior to start. U.S. Citizenship required.
