SUMMARY
The Staff Accountant provides finance expertise to business leaders in support of Pretium’s strategies, goals and objectives.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions:
- Daily and month-end accounting activities including journal entries, system transactions and account reconciliations
- Internal reporting of financials and plant financial analysis on a regular and adhoc basis
- Support Internal Control compliance efforts through preparation, monitoring, and reporting activities
- Responsible for monitoring and ensuring tasks are done timely:
- Interaction with Accounts Receivable Team as needed
- Interaction with Accounts Payable Team as needed
- Analysis of standard labor and material costs and analysis of variances
- Month-end reporting and analysis
- Quarterly and Year-End Audit requests
- Support for Plant Operations, including Capital Expenditure analysis, and other operational needs
- Ad hoc analyses
- Help identify or provide information on continuous improvement opportunities
- Perform special projects or other duties as assigned
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
Experience
Must have 2-3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing setting
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy is essential
- Must be a self-starter, working in a fast-paced environment
- Strong team player with ability to work independently
- Ability to meet deadlines
- Proficient in MS Office software: advanced Excel skills are required
- Experience with ERP systems: IQMS and/or Oracle experience preferred
