Position Summary: 

The Inventory and Operations Analyst play a critical role in supporting global operations and ensuring seamless execution across Culp’s supply chain. This position focuses on data-driven decision making, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver on-time service, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction. The analyst will work closely with Design, Sales, Quality, Customer Service, and Supply Chain teams, while also providing direct support to customers. 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Track orders, WIP, and shipments across the supply chain; maintain visibility to production timing versus customer requirements; escalate risks early with clear options.
  • Monitor on-hand, in-transit, and aging inventory; recommend adjustments, transfers, or close-out actions to improve turns and reduce excess.
  • Extract and analyze data from ERP and planning systems to produce actionable reports; translate insights into clear recommendations.
  • Coordinate input from multiple internal teams to develop appropriate responses to customer’s special requests and new product development needs.
  • Maintain and improve SOPs, process maps, calendars, and standard work to enable consistent execution.
  • Assist with new product introductions, ensuring accurate setup, timely communication, and smooth execution across internal and external partners.
  • Partner with internal teams to align forecasts with inventory and stock orders, and support customer requests.
  • Investigate and resolve order discrepancies promptly and accurately; provide pricing and billing support as needed to maintain customer satisfaction and financial accuracy.
  • Organize and lead meetings with suppliers and customers, including agenda preparation, materials, notes, action tracking, and timely follow-through.
  • Assist operations with capacity and materials planning, order sequencing, and constraint communication to protect service and cost.
  • Support logistics and documentation activities including bookings, export documents, customs requirements, and shipment expediting when necessary.
  • Build strong relationships with internal teams across the U.S. and global regions, plus key contacts at customer and supplier organizations.
  • Communicate professionally and accurately with customers in writing and verbally; proactive and timely follow-up is required.
  • Perform additional duties as needed to support the overall function of the role.

 

Role Qualifications/Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Operations, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in international operations, supply chain, customer operations, or planning.
  • Proven ability to organize, analyze, and present data clearly.
  • Familiarity with international logistics, export documentation, and customs processes.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Collaborative, detail oriented, and solutions driven with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Advanced Excel skills, strong proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence platforms and a solid understanding of large datasets is preferred.
  • Experience with ERP and AS400 or similar systems is a plus.

Education Requirements:

  • BA/BS degree in Business Administration, Operations, or a related field. MBA is a plus.

Travel Requirements: Less than 10%.
