Salary Range: $70,000-$85,000 (Pay information will vary depending upon relevant experience for the position)

GENERAL SCOPE: This position will have key responsibility for (1) collaborating, developing and implementing education & training for all employees with a focus on ensuring comprehensive clinical competency for nursing staff and (2) coordinating all activities associated with Jewish Home’s Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP).
EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION: Current NYS license and registration as an RN in good standing required. Minimum of two years clinical experience in acute and/or subacute geriatric setting.
Completion of a professionally recognized course in teaching adult learners or New York State Education Department teacher certification. Certification as a CPR instructor preferred.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Staff Development Educator (75%)
- Assesses learning needs and identifies development opportunities.
- Designs and delivers training to staff across the organization, meeting all education and training required by New York State Department of Health for skilled nursing and assisted living employees.
- Evaluates, reviews and revises existing educational offerings. Initiates additional activities in order
to meet changing needs.
- Acts as a resource person and consultant for all staff members on teaching methods and materials.
- Utilizes a variety of training techniques, methods to instruct training participants and enhance
the learning experience.
Nurse Aide Training Program (NATP) Coordinator (25%)
- Oversee program development – identify, obtain, or develop the necessary material and tools to teach, instruct and evaluate the performance of each nurse aid trainee enrolled in the NATP.
- Perform administrative duties as needed including, but not limited to establishing yearly training session schedule, interviewing & onboarding trainees, processing paperwork, communicating with trainees, planning classroom and lab activities, etc.
- Collaborate with program instructor in planning and implementing each training session.
- Ensure all records are stored and managed according to company standards and state regulations.
- Maintain student records including progress, grades, attendance, etc.
- Provide evaluation of program activities, policies, records and outcomes.
- Make sure classroom/testing site is in compliance with regulatory and testing contractor requirements.
- All other job duties as assigned.
EXPERIENCE: Minimum of 2 years’ experience in this or equivalent role.
