JOB SUMMARY

As a Manager within the TTX Fleet Distribution team, this individual will help coordinate, plan and implement strategies and procedures necessary to effectively manage approximately 70,000 railcars assigned to North America's pooled multi-level fleet. Primary responsibility is to ensure the proper movement of empty railcars for shipment of finished vehicles across railroad and shipper participants. This involves not only the daily preparation of customer reports assessing the adequacy of railcar supply, but also extensive communications at both the corporate and plant level of the automotive shippers as well as with the car management groups at each of the major railroads. Individual will help support objectives to optimize efficient and equitable distribution of the fleet at the lowest cost to our member railroads while supporting a high level of service for the automotive shippers and other industry stakeholders. Duties may also include the management of TTX Automotive specialty fleets and specified UMLER transactions, along with representing TTX on one or more Automotive industry AAR committees.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and develop team of direct reports (data analysts), along with mentoring other junior team members, to ensure that data projects are delivered on time with quality.
  • Prepare daily automotive shipper queue and pipeline analysis reports in order to assess individual shipper and plant supply requirements in consultation with team management.
  • Assist the Sr. Train Operations Manager with coverage for directing empty distribution efforts of the national multi-level pool. Improve RR and OEM satisfaction through daily customer calls.
  • Serve as a contributor in strategic discussions for customer technology (TTXNEXTT) development. Prepare performance reports/graphs using Microsoft Excel and other BI tools.
  • Monitor and audit payables for TTX special programs through interdepartmental coordination. 
  • Manage special projects and/ or tasks as assigned to support company and industry initiatives.
  • Provide weekend coverage as part of a rotation with other team members on train distribution.
  • High-level understanding of and/ or familiarity with AAR Car Service Rules preferred.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited college or university, MBA or Graduate Degree preferred
  • 5+ years’ related experience and/ or training
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks according to urgency and department objectives
  • Able to thrive both in a team environment and work autonomously (both remote/ in office)
  • Ability to develop positive, collaborative relationships with internal and external customers
  • Ability to manage difficult situations and conflict
  • Ability to speak Spanish preferred
