Position Summary
We are seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. Under the direction of the Controller, this role ensures timely, accurate, and reliable financial reporting, cash management, and compliance with GAAP. The Senior Staff Accountant plays a key leadership role in improving processes, maintaining internal controls, and supporting financial operations across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings in accordance with GAAP.
- Manage select general ledger activities, reconciliations, and audit support documentation.
- Support external audit preparation and review processes.
- Develop and implement accounting procedures that strengthen internal controls and mitigate risk.
- Provide financial guidance and technical accounting support to program managers.
- Oversee banking and cash management functions, including reconciliations and corporate card programs.
- Partner with the Development team on revenue reconciliations to ensure accuracy in reporting.
- Prepare and review entries for payroll, benefits, insurance, investments, and related areas.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Finance team.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- CPA certification preferred.
- 5+ years of relevant accounting experience.
- Deep understanding of GAAP, budgeting, and internal controls.
- Strong proficiency in Excel, Word, and financial ERP systems (Sage Intacct experience a plus).
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to mentor others and foster a collaborative team environment.
- High attention to detail, integrity, and accountability.
Additional Requirements
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must successfully complete CANTS, LEADS, and State Police background checks.
