TxDOT's Fort Worth District is looking for a Maintenance Support Tech II or III located in Fort Worth, Tx. This administrative position works closely with the Maintenance Section Supervisor to keep the maintenance office running day to day. Duties include assisting with phone calls, employee onboarding, procurement, data entry, inventory, timesheets, and many other important functions. The ideal candidate is a good communicator and responds quickly and professionally via phone or email to members of the public, coworkers, and local government stakeholders. Salary Grade:
Maintenance Support Tech II: A15, ($3,248.00 - $4,837.08) Monthly
Maintenance Support Tech III: A17, ($3,581.33 - $5,372.41) Monthly

Maintenance Support Tech II:
Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters. Work requires contact with high-level managers, executives, governmental officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives. Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties:
- Composes and prepares correspondence and applicable recurring or special one-time reports and/or confidential and
sensitive communications. - Maintains materials inventory.
- Answers the telephone, evaluates requests, answers questions, routes messages, and/or serves as receptionist or front
desk assistant. - Assists district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment.
- Conducts monthly spot inventories, verifies inventory findings, reconciles and coordinates with Business Services on
adjustments needed. - Coordinates with District Warehouse personnel on surplus property sales of miscellaneous items.
- Maintains and updates office files/records/logs and a wide variety of automated systems in support of personnel, finance,
budgeting, maintenance, inventory, contracts, purchasing, travel information, and/or permitting activities. - Maintains calendars for department personnel to include scheduling meetings, coordinating and making appointments, and
travel arrangements. - Processes receipts and invoices for payment.
Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
Maintenance Support Tech III:
Performs administrative support-related work in a maintenance office or district headquarters and for one or more projects and
specialized programs. May serve as a lead worker. Work requires contact with high-level managers, executives, governmental
officials and private entities. Employees at this level establish their own work plan and priorities to meet set objectives.
Issues are rarely referred to the supervisor but are handled at the occurrence.
Essential Duties (In addition to Maintenance Support Tech II):
- Evaluates and researches information to solve customer service problems.
- Inputs and maintains daily production reports and compiles monthly reports for manager.
- Provides information and assistance pertaining to procedures, laws, rules and/or regulations; refers customers to
appropriate source for problems or questions; processes special applications and reports. - Retrieves information from master files or databases and verifies against applications, forms and other documents.
Coordinates with district personnel with annual inventory of supplies, stockpiles and minor equipment
- Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Grad or Equivalent in general education.
Maintenenance Support Tech II Experience: 1 year in administrative or clerical support, customer service, or related experience. (Experience can be satisfied by full time or prorated part time equivalent). College education and/or relevant technical training may be substituted for experience on a year per year basis. assignments independently without constant supervision
Maintenance Support Tech II and III:
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:
- Sedentary work: Lift up to 10 lbs at a time and occasionally carry files/small tools
- Light work: Lift up to 20 lbs at a time and frequently lift or carry objects up to 10 lbs
- Standing-prolonged periods of time
- Repetitive Motion-substantial movements of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- Close Visual Acuity-work includes data/figures; view a computer screen; extensive reading
