Caprock Academy is seeking Substitute Teachers and Substitute Educational Assistants for the 2025-2026 school year.. Caprock Academy is a public, tuition-free school chartered by the Colorado Charter School Institute and utilizes the timeless principles of classically oriented education.
Caprock Academy follows the Core Knowledge© curriculum in grades K–8. This curriculum encompasses language arts, mathematics, science, history, geography, fine arts, and physical education. The curriculum is characterized by content-rich instruction, cumulative knowledge, content-specific lessons, and coherent sequencing. The foundation of our academics are rooted in classical education philosophy and pedagogy, following the grammar, logic and rhetoric trivium. The school’s mission is to help all students achieve their highest academic and character potential using proven, accelerated academic programs while providing a safe environment. We are currently expanding our pool of substitute teachers and Substitute Educational Assistants for the current school year. Occasionally jobs become available at the last minute during the summer or in the middle of the school year. Caprock Academy is therefore happy to receive substitute applications throughout the year even for positions that do not have posted openings. Substitute Teacher
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, non-exempt
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: casual, part-time
WORK HOURS: 7:15 a.m.-3:15 p.m. full day
PAY RANGE: $150/full-day, $75/half- day
REPORTS TO: Deans
Substitute Educational Assistant
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Hourly, non-exempt
EMPLOYMENT STATUS: Causal, Part-time
WORK HOURS 7:15 AM-3:15 PM
PAY RANG: $15.91
REPORTS TO: Deans
Essential Duties:
- Implement teacher lesson plans
- Help faculty to always supervise students.
- Take part of a rotating schedule for playground duty before school, at recess, at lunch and after school.
- Aid teachers in drop off and pick up duty before and/or after school.
- Facilitate the Pledge of Allegiance with students.
- Take attendance.
- Help faculty to always supervise students.
- Aid teachers in escorting students to specials classes.
- Escort students to the office as needed.
- Help keep the classroom clean and tidy.
- Enforce school policies (ie. dress code, technology usage, etc).
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma. Associate or bachelor’s degree, preferred.
- Experience working with students, preferred.
- Desire and willingness to promote the mission and values of the school.
- Demonstrated effective classroom-management skills.
- Ability and willingness to work effectively with peers and team members.
- Professional and personal integrity and judgment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
