Job title: Patient Financial Services Collector
Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute is looking for a full-time, Patient Financial Services Collector to join our team at the San Marco office. The position is full-time with benefits including medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, and 401K retirement plan.
The Patient Financial Services Collector serves as the financial collector of patient balances.
Location: 1325 San Marco Blvd. Jacksonville, FL 32207
Schedule: Monday- Friday
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review accounts for accurate guarantor, insurance, and billing on all accounts.
- Take In-bound calls from patients with questions regarding their account for both MD and Physical Therapy services.
- Take credit card payments via phone
- Make out-bound calls to patients regarding account balances
- Set up payment plans in system upon patient request
Position Requirements
- Prior experience in medical billing required.
- Knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding, Commercial, HMO, and Medicare insurance billing.
- Knowledge and understanding of billing and coding standards devised by the business, government and the healthcare industry.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
- Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
- Excellent customer service skills and professional demeanor.
- Computer proficiency.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Certification a plus but not required.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment working at a desk and computer.
Occasional overtime may be required.
Physical Demands
Will require an individual sitting and standing associated with a sedentary office environment: 90% sitting, 5% walking, 5% standing. Individual should possess manual dexterity sufficient to type and operate a computer and office equipment, and to write legibly. Individual’s vision should be sufficient to read standard text and data on computer screens and paper forms. Ability to speak clearly and with the volume required to carry on clear conversations in person and over the phone. Individual’s hearing should be sufficient to carry on clear conversations in person and over the phone.
