The QMHP Supervisor is responsible for assigning psychosocial assessments monthly to a team of QMHPs and ensuring assessments completed are wholistic and person centered. QMHP Supervisor functions include administrative and clinical supervision of a team of QMHPs, the performance of on-going quality assurance activities, and monitoring the provision of quality care. The QMHP Supervisor will also assist with the clinical training of QMHPs and CPRP associates as needed/appropriate in conjunction with CPRP Program Director. The QMHP Supervisor will oversee the assignment/completion of MO-Children’s Division Independent Assessments.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
1. Ensure timely completion of initial and annual psycho-social assessments for adult, children, and youth participating in the CPR Program that integrates physical and mental health concerns and identify strengths and functional challenges using the Daily Living Assessment as assigned.
2. Supervise services provided by QMHPs and provide ongoing training and coaching of QMHPs relative to their job objectives, standards of performance, clinical best practices and individual development needs
3. Conduct treatment team meetings and individual supervision as appropriate with all direct reports.
4. Conduct and/or oversee quality assurance activities including but not limited to a review of written documentation to ensure the quality and appropriateness and validation for billing.
5. Assist in facilitation of clinical training for CPRP Program.
6. Participate in assigned Quality Improvement, Accreditation and Standards, and Risk Management activities and other department meetings as appropriate.
7. Participate in community stakeholder meetings
8. Participate in Swope Health Services Quality Management program, abiding by adopted organizational policies and procedures.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.
SUPERVISOR COMPETENCY:
1. Supervisor is knowledgeable of current anti-depressant and psychotropic medications.
2. Supervisor demonstrates an understanding of and ability to teach DSM-IV TR Diagnosis.
3. Supervisor demonstrates an understanding of and ability to teach person centered care planning.
4. Supervisor is proficient in regulatory requirements governing documentation of provision of care/treatment according to DMH Core Rules, Medicaid and Joint Commission guidelines.
5. Supervisor is knowledgeable of organizational and regulatory incident reporting and consumer safety guidelines.
6. Supervisor is knowledgeable of voluntary, involuntary and outpatient civil commitment procedures.
7. Supervisor demonstrates proficiency in training, coaching and supervision of personnel.
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Master’s Degree in social work, psychology, counseling, family therapy with a minimum of five (5) years of professional mental health experience.
2. LCSW, LPC, or LMSW, PLPC under supervision to obtain independent license required.
3. Two to five years of professional experience in working with seriously emotionally disturbed (SED) children and adults with severe mental illness/severe and persistent mental illness (SMI/SPMI) preferably one year in a community mental health setting. At least one year of supervisory/management experience preferred.
4. Proficient knowledge and utilization of the DSM-IV TR and the ability to assess mental health disorders and make person centered treatment and service recommendations.
5. Proficient knowledge of health and human services and community resources.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Strong consumer advocacy skills with empowerment philosophy.
8. Must possess a valid driver’s license and current automobile insurance, with daily access to reliable and registered transportation.
9. Ability to satisfy all clinical competencies as it relates to service delivery.
10. Ability to type 30 wpm and navigate electronic medical records and computer programs proficiently.
