FSM Group has an immediate opening for a Lead Mechanic who will support the airport's Ground Equipment (GSE) Maintenance, Repairs, and Refurbishment for its location at John F. Kennedy International Airport (JFK).

The daily routine of the Shop and essential functions for the Lead Mechanic may include:

• Oil changes
• Coolant and fluid checks
• Brake checks and tire changes
• Troubleshooting and diagnostics
• Repairs and refurbs

The Ground Support Equipment Lead Mechanic provides ongoing preventive, routine, repair, and refurbishment services for a variety of ground equipment. The shop is similar to an auto shop, but we work on a variety of equipment, including but not limited to fuel carts, hydrant trucks, luggage tugs, deicing trucks, catering trucks, and anything else that you may see out on the airport ramp.

• 1-2 years of mechanical experience of any kind (preferably auto mechanic, box truck, HVAC, refrigeration systems, etc.)
• Mechanical minds who enjoy problem-solving
• General knowledge of carburetors, alternators, starter motors, batteries, hydraulics, small engines, radiators, and diesel engines
• Experience working on Ground Support Equipment is preferred, but not required.
• Electrical and diesel skills are preferred, but not required.
• At least 18 years of age.
• A valid U.S. Driver's License.
• Must be able to pass a federal fingerprint background check.
• Have proof of U.S work eligibility.
