About the role
Part-time driver with hazmat endorsement.
Responsible for safely transporting different concentrations of vinegar (in a tanker) to designated locations, following assigned routes and schedules.
This role is for a limited number of hours/deliveries per week.
Key responsibilities
Job Responsibilities:
Comply with all Department of Transportation (DOT) and company safety regulations, especially those related to hazardous materials transport.
Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle and its equipment are in safe working order.
Properly placard the vehicle according to DOT requirements for the materials being transported.
Safely unload vinegar from the tanker, using hoses, pumps, and other specialized equipment. Ensure proper procedures are followed to prevent spills and contamination.
Be prepared to follow company protocols in the event of an emergency or a spill.
Qualifications and skills
Required qualifications:
A valid Class A is required.
Current hazardous materials (Hazmat) and tanker (N) endorsements are mandatory.
A clean motor vehicle record (MVR) is required.
The role requires a successful background check as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) for hazmat endorsements.
Must be able to pass a DOT-mandated physical exam and a drug and alcohol screening.
Previous commercial driving and/or hazmat experience is preferred.
Skills and competencies:
A strong commitment to following safety protocols is crucial, given the nature of the cargo.
The ability to carefully check documentation, equipment, and regulations is essential for compliance and safety.
Professional and clear communication is necessary when interacting with customers, and team members.
Flexibility to work varying hours
The typical hiring range for this role is $60.89 per load and is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, and certifications. This position may also be eligible for a shift differential and/or overtime.
