Position Purpose Academic success coaches provide integrated social, emotional, behavioral and academic support, grounded in authentic and supportive relationships that help students and schools expand possibilities for learning and development. Success Coaches help students maximize their potential by supporting and assisting students in gaining effective strategies and behaviors that can support their personal and academic lives.
Essential Job Functions
Daily Supervision
Bus lot supervision - morning and afternoon
Hallway supervision - morning, during passing periods, and after school
Cafeteria supervision - breakfast and after school
Restroom supervision - during passing periods, during class time, and after school
On-call supervision responsibilities with Student Services
Depending on the position, Freshmen Study Hall supervision
Meeting Responsibilities
Meet with students regarding social, emotional, behavioral, and academic support
Meet with Assistant Principals in Student Services regarding students social, emotional, behavioral, and academic supports
Meet with General Education teachers regarding students social, emotional, behavioral, and academic supports
Meet with Special Education teachers regarding students social, emotional, behavioral, and academic supports
Meet with Social Worker regarding students social, emotional, behavioral, and academic supports
Attend and help facilitate support staff professional development
Reporting Systems/Accountability
On a bi-weekly basis update the Response-To-Intervention (RTI) document which levels out certain interventions based upon a student’s academic performance and behavioral supports.

Credits Earned
Attendance
Student Conduct Referrals
Missing Assignments
Academic Success Coaches will help with Tier I, 2, and 3 Interventions and then refer students to the Behavioral Interventionist, Counselor, or Student Services Assistant Principals for Tier 4 Interventions.
Equipment Standard use of office equipment such as computers (Google Suite), printer, copier, etc.
Travel Requirements Possible travel to other district school buildings and/or professional development meetings
Pay Rate $16.65 per hour
Work Schedule 7.25 hours per day 182 days per year
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Knowledge and Experience in:
Developing instructional strategies and programs for struggling students
Assessing and collecting data
Diagnosing student need
Delivering and evaluating interventions
Cognitive/Peer coaching
Skills in oral and written communication
Knowledge and experience working with diverse populations
English Language Learners (ELL)
Special Education
Ability to work in a team setting
Ability to collaboratively work together to create change for students
Ability to understand and implement school discipline with leveled consequences
Ability to effectively communicate with parents and other stakeholders
