Job Description Interventionist Conway Public School District
Qualifications:
Master’s degree preferred
Appropriate licensure for grade-level position
Minimum of five years teaching experience preferred
Knowledge of literacy, math contents, as well as state standards for both content areas
Reports to: Principal
Supervises: Not applicable
Terms of Employment: The contract length will be 190 days. The salary schedule will be A & J.
Evaluation: Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by building-level principal or assistant principal (upon principal’s direction).
Job Goal: The Interventionist is responsible for providing instructional support for students who are struggling either in math and/or literacy. The Interventionist will also assist in determining appropriate District-designated interventions best suited for the student based on their data. The Interventionist will also progress monitor and evaluate student progress toward student goals.
Performance Responsibilities:
Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
Participates, implements, and utilizes all appropriate District-designated intervention programs, strategies, or protocols.
Provides direct instruction to individual or small groups of students for strategic intervention to supplement core classroom instruction.
Assists in screening and progress monitoring of students.
Assists in analyzing individual student data to determine student profile of needs for making instructional placement and instructional focus for students.
At principal’s direction, collaborates and consults with classroom teachers, special education staff, and other specialists in problem-solving approach to implement the most effective instructional plan for students.
Maintains accurate records of students receiving intervention as well as progress of students toward goals.
Maintains the confidentiality of school and student records.
Adheres to the fidelity in the implementation of intervention program in accordance with program specifications.
Participates in intervention/collaboration meetings.
Other duties, as assigned.
