About Pure Paws Veterinary Care

At Pure Paws Veterinary Care, we pride ourselves on providing personalized, high-quality care for pets across our three New York City hospitals: Clinton Hill (Brooklyn), Hudson Square (SoHo), and Hell’s Kitchen (Midtown Manhattan). Each pet has its own unique needs, which is why we take a personalized approach, creating customized wellness plans that focus on their specific health requirements. We aim to ensure that every patient receives the best possible care, taking into consideration their overall well-being and any individual health concerns.

Our Hell’s Kitchen hospital serves pet owners in the heart of Midtown Manhattan. This location is known for its diverse caseload, urgent care services, and ability to handle high-volume days with efficiency. Doctors here thrive in a fast-paced environment that often includes urgent walk-ins, drop-offs, and same-day cases. Like our other locations, Hell’s Kitchen provides a broad range of services, including wellness care, diagnostics, overnight hospitalization, dentistry, and surgery, with access to specialists in orthopedics, cardiology, and internal medicine when needed.

Why Pure Paws Veterinary Care?

At Pure Paws Hell’s Kitchen, you’ll have the opportunity to practice high-quality medicine in a fast-paced, team-oriented hospital that balances urgent care with general wellness. Our doctors manage a diverse caseload, including urgent walk-ins, drop-offs, and same-day appointments, with support from a strong support team and a collaborative culture that values flexibility and teamwork.

We are committed to your professional development. As part of a larger veterinary network, you’ll have access to continuing education, mentorship opportunities, and resources to keep you growing in your career.

Our Hell’s Kitchen hospital serves a vibrant, engaged community of pet owners in Midtown Manhattan, where pets are considered part of the family. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced veterinarian who wants to build their career in a supportive, dynamic setting.

Who We’re Looking For:

While we are proud to serve pets across three NYC locations—Clinton Hill (Brooklyn), Hudson Square (SoHo), and Hell’s Kitchen—this role is specifically for our busy Hell’s Kitchen hospital, where the caseload is fast-paced, diverse, and ideal for someone who thrives in urgent and emergency care. This role is ideal for an individual with internship training (Small Animal or Emergency) and at least 2 years of post-internship experience—no new graduates, please.

Here, you’ll thrive in a fast-paced, supportive environment where you’ll see a diverse NYC caseload. Doctors typically see 16–18 pets per day with 30-minute GP appointments and manage urgent care walk-ins and drop-offs. Surgery/Dentistry is optional in this role—candidates may focus solely on appointments and critical care, or participate in common procedures such as spays, neuters, mass removals, and dentals. Overnight hospitalization and after-hours care are provided at our Hudson Square and Hell’s Kitchen locations.

The ideal candidate is confident, compassionate, and decisive, with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a busy setting. Collaboration with our close-knit team across three hospitals is key. We are especially interested in candidates who bring ER/urgent care experience and can comfortably handle the pace and expectations of New York City clientele. The best fit will be internship-trained (ideally in a large city), highly efficient, and adaptable, with the professional maturity to work as a solo practitioner when needed. They should embody a “say-yes” mentality, be resilient with demanding clients, and maintain a positive, team-oriented approach. Flexibility with scheduling, the ability to manage urgent add-ons, and a commitment to being fully engaged in hospital culture are essential.

Requirements:

  • A valid New York State Veterinary License (in good standing) prior to the start date
  • DVM or VMD degree required
  • Internship training (Small Animal or Emergency)
  • Minimum 2+ years of post-internship experience
  • ER/urgent care experience strongly preferred
