Job Level - Manager
Shelter maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in geographic location, education, training, skills, relevant work experience, business needs and market demands. What You Will Be Doing:
Serve as an important member of the Financial Operations (FinOps) leadership team to support the Companies' strategic initiatives. This position supports FinOps direct involvement with technical areas such as new system implementations for the Companies, including representing the department on steering committees and in IS prioritization meetings. Oversee the Manager of Treasury Operations, Manager of Systems and Reports, and Manager of Corporate Tax. Oversee Workday administration for Financials. Serve as point of contact and assists treasurer for all banking relationships. Oversee the Tax area, including federal, state and premium taxes, 1099 reporting as well as fixed assets. Recommends innovative solutions for FinOps processes and implements accordingly.
Support the Financial Reporting and Payments IS agile teams, providing guidance on business needs and priority of work. Responsible for Financial Operations Business Resumption Plans and Testing. Work in tandem with Director of Financial and Regulatory Reporting to ensure strong internal controls are in place with new and existing corporate systems. Responsible for staffing, training, and assigning appropriate back-ups. In addition, serves as the liaison of the Financial Operations Department with various business partners.
Due to the duties and responsibilities of this position, a Credit Bureau Report may be ordered on final candidates.
What We're Looking For:
- Ensure minimal disruption to schedules, deadlines and availability to department personnel requiring expertise or guidance.
- Ability to accept guidance, follow instructions and work in a harmonious manner with others.
- Strong leadership skills, demonstrated by five to ten years of management experience with a proven record of establishing long-term goals, providing organizational motivation and successful completion to target typically required.
- Excellent presentation, verbal and written communication skills.
- Educational background of a Master's Degree in Accounting, an MBA Degree, or a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
- CPA designation recommended.
- Insurance industry experience desired.
- Knowledge of Workday Financials system and reporting or One Inc payment processor preferred.
- Proven work experience and understanding of information technology structures and concepts, agile processes and techniques.
- Proven project management skills. Demonstrated track record of involvement with process improvements.
- Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without a reasonable accommodation.
