Description

Position Purpose:

Responsible for all aspects of vendor payments to Cumberlands vendors.

Essential Functions of the Job:

  • Enter all vendor invoices from all departments and branches for payment.
  • Code non-purchase order invoices.
  • Reconcile vendor statements monthly.
  • Print checks weekly.
  • File processed checks in Accounts Payable files weekly.
  • Process all W-9 and sales tax exempt form requests.
  • Complete new vendor credit apps as needed.
  • File journal entries monthly
  • Monthly account reconciliations.
  • Keep a log of inventory sent to offsite storage
  • Process 1099s annually
  • Provide credit overrides for A/R accounts to parts and service personnel.
  • Answers the overflow of phone calls in the department.
  • Ability to work with internal and external customers on a professional basis.
  • Assists in monthly closing of the books.
  • Ensures a professional appearance and a neat work environment for office staff.
  • Assists with annual parts physical inventory.
  • Any other duties that are assigned by management. Flexibility is necessary to meet the business needs of the company.

Qualifications


Qualifications for the position:

  • 2 to 4 years of related experience and/or training in accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • College education is desired, but not necessary.
  • Excellent communication skills internally and externally.
  • Be able to multi-task and meet deadlines, when necessary.
  • Possess the skills to promote and maintain a positive work environment.
  • PC skills required along with experience in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through use of e-mail.
  • Must be self-motivated and have good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must conduct his / her self in a professional manner with internal and external customers.
  • Have the ability and flexibility to work other shifts for coverage of sick days or vacation relief.
