Job Description:

We’re looking for a Senior Management Accountant contractor to join us on-a 6 month basis. This role is critical to ensuring the smooth financial integration of newly acquired businesses, supporting due diligence and delivering accurate, timely reporting across P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow.

You'll work closely with senior finance leaders, applying your expertise in UK GAAP and IFRS to drive insightful analysis and maintain high standards. What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead the financial reporting for newly acquired businesses, ensuring everything aligns with UK GAAP standards and company policies
  • Collaborate with teams across the business to understand transactions and provide insightful analysis that highlights risks and opportunities
  • Support the due diligence process during acquisitions, working closely with project managers to gather and review financial data
  • Prepare and report monthly financial results, including consolidated P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow, with accuracy and timeliness
  • Be a key point of contact for senior finance leaders and auditors, offering clear explanations and documentation to support financial decisions

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • A strong foundation in finance, with professional qualifications like ACA, ACCA, or CIMA and a keen eye for detail
  • Confidence in applying UK GAAP and IFRS, especially in acquisition accounting and group reporting
  • A solid understanding of financial reporting, with hands-on experience in preparing and analysing P&L statements, cash flow reports, and balance sheets.
  • Strong management accounting skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • A proactive and organised approach, thriving in fast-paced environments and managing multiple projects with ease
Qualifications:

Essential Skills

  • Professionally qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience in acquisition accounting and integration
  • Skilled in preparing and analysing P&L reports, cash flow statements, and management accounts. 
  •  Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS
  • Advanced MS Excel skills – pivot tables, vlookups, sumifs etc
