Responsibilities include the coordination of overall supervision of the Shift Supervisor, Program Manager, Program Assistants, Program Administrative Assistants, and other assigned staff including recruitment, interviewing and hiring, training, evaluating, and scheduling. Oversee assessment of operational needs of the facility and solicit competitive bids for facility equipment. Network with the management team to assure effective, day-to-day facility operations. The Assistant Director oversees ongoing operations of all shifts as it relates to the security and safety of the facility, accountability for the resident population, and supervising the orientation of all new residents.

Scope of Duties:

  1. Supervise assigned staff including the completion of performance evaluations and regularly scheduled supervisory sessions.
  2. Assist Director in conducting on-site training and staff development programs.
  3. Act as a liaison on behalf of the Director, inclusive of outside meeting attendance as directed.
  4. Ensure all direct reports are properly oriented and trained as per their job description requirements.
  5. Ensure proper coverage, inclusive of monitoring overtime of all direct reports.
  6. Assist Director with team-building efforts.
  7. Oversee assessment of operational needs of the facility and solicit competitive bids for facility equipment.
  8. Oversee fire safety, facility cleanliness, facility maintenance, and safety compliance.
  9. Coordinates community service projects as assigned.
  10. Schedule and conduct regular facility inspections.
  11. Ensure that facility searches are conducted as per policy and procedure.
  12. Oversee the security of the facility and monitor sign-in/out procedures.
  13. Oversee the monitoring of all medication to clients and the documentation in the medication log.
  14. Facilitate and/or co-facilitate House Government meetings.
  15. Network with the management team to assure effective, day-to-day facility operations.
  16. Work with the management team to acquire and maintain accreditation.
  17. Must have full knowledge of agency Corrections Policy and Procedures.
  18. Must have a working knowledge of accreditation standards/ requirements.
  19. Provide support to the Director.
  20. Any duties assigned by the Director.
  21. Interact (verbally and non-verbally) with all clients, staff, and community members professionally with respect and courtesy.
  22. Maintain client and staff confidentiality in compliance with the administrative policies and procedures.
  23. Attend and participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings, supervisory conferences, and training sessions
  24. Must possess a valid driver's license and be able to meet agency driver standards.
