The Data Management Analyst oversees daily data intake and output through the Geophysical Data Network (RDG) and client site operations. The role requires leadership, governance expertise, and strong knowledge of business processes and subsurface data types, including seismic, non-seismic, and well data. The analyst must apply innovative approaches to data management using tools like Resilio, Web Synthase, AIG, Linux scripts, and other analytical platforms, with expert understanding of their use in a corporate environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exceptional client service in all aspects of data management, including data transfer, loading, quality assurance, cleanup, and governance.
- Maintain accurate time tracking using corporate tools and ensure timely handling of billing information.
- Develop and apply effective project management practices, such as decision records and process documentation.
- Collaborate with team members to identify optimal solutions and navigate conflicting priorities effectively.
- Communicate clearly and promptly with both client personnel and Katalyst operational staff.
- Assess the current state of RDG systems and disk usage and monitor progress toward future system improvements.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Deep understanding of data transfer technologies and subsurface data loading processes.
- Expert-level knowledge of subsurface data types—including well and seismic data formats—as well as ownership, entitlements, and business tools used to access and manage this data.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems effectively and efficiently.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong team orientation.
- Proficiency in key tools such as ArcGIS/QGIS, Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
- Experience with organizational change management practices.
- Strategic thinker with an awareness of how individual contributions impact team performance and client outcomes.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. As a full-time position, the Data Management Analyst is eligible to participate in benefits coverage offered to Katalyst employees based on geographical location.
This is a full-time position that may be performed remotely, at a Katalyst office, or on a client site. Standard working hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with occasional evening or weekend work required to support global operations.

Required Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; college degree preferred.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience working with oil and gas subsurface data, including related documents and file types.
- Demonstrated success in collaborative, team-based environments.
