In this role, you will design and validate conveyor layouts for complete packaging lines, ensuring accuracy, safety, and efficiency. You will analyze customer specifications, perform line calculations, and integrate equipment into layouts that meet project requirements. The position involves collaborating with Project Managers, suppliers, and customers, preparing technical specifications, and occasionally joining on-site visits to deliver innovative conveyor solutions.
Determining the required conveyor components and performing the necessary calculations to prepare a pre-contracting layout as per the request received from the Precontracting Project Manager (PMP within the required time-frame.Validation of pre-contracting layout, engineering and costing.
Analysis and validation of customer specifications (type of motors, chains, bearings, lubrication, etc.).
Onsite measurements and customer meetings (with Complete Line PMP).
Line dimensioning and accumulation calculations.
Integration of all the equipment of the line into the layout, in accordance with safety, ergonomics and efficiency requirements.
Liaise with Sidel conveyors manufacturing sites for the conveyors supply.
Prepare and distribute technical specifications required for the conveyors and line operation.
Possibility of meeting with the customer (with Complete Line PMP).
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
Technical Knowledge & Skills:
Strong understanding of conveyor systems, including motors, chains, bearings, lubrication, and other mechanical components.
Proficiency in layout design and mechanical dimensioning.
Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or equivalent) for layout preparation and validation.
Ability to prepare and review technical specifications for conveyors and line equipment.
English or spanish intermediate level
Experience:
Previous experience (3–5 years) in packaging line design or pre-contracting engineering.
Decirable Hands-on exposure to on-site measurements and direct customer interactions.
Analytical & Organizational Skills:
Strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities to perform accurate engineering and costing validation.
Ability to manage multiple projects within tight timelines.
Attention to detail when integrating multiple equipment types into a cohesive layout.
Interpersonal Skills:
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with Project Managers, manufacturing sites, and customers.
Team-oriented with the ability to work in a cross-functional environment.
Other:
Willingness to travel for on-site measurements and customer meetings.
Proficiency in English (written and spoken); additional languages are an asset.
