The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Group Accountant to join our Financial Control team on a full-time basis until the end of February 2026.

Reporting to the Group Accounting Leader, you will support the team through a transitionary phase following recent operating model changes. Your focus will be on managing month-end close processes, posting journals, and safeguarding the integrity of APA’s financial records.

This role offers broad exposure across group consolidation, corporate accounting, and asset accounting - making it an excellent platform to grow your career in finance within a large, complex ASX-listed organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support month-end close activities, including posting journals, reconciliations, and consolidations.

  • Ensure accuracy, completeness, and reliability of financial records and processes across group, corporate, and asset accounting.

  • Provide analysis of financial data to support decision-making.

  • Collaborate with Finance Assist and Business Partnering teams as required.

  • Contribute to consolidation and reporting activities at the group level.

  • Assist the team through a transitionary phase, helping to embed new structures and ways of working.

Your background

  • CA/CPA qualified with solid grounding in financial accounting, ideally gained in Big 4 audit or a large corporate environment.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable working across teams.

  • Experience with Workday, Blackline, or similar systems advantageous but not essential.
