A special education paraeducator, under general supervision, assists the classroom teacher, performing a variety of tasks relating to the physical and instructional needs of students in a classroom setting; assists in the implementation of instructional programs, including self-help and behavior management as well as instruction. The special education paraeducator performs related duties as required or assigned. Previous experience preferred, but not necessary. Training is provided. This is an ideal opportunity for parents/guardians of school-age students and for anyone wishing to support the individual differences and needs of students in a general or special education classroom.
LOCATION: Lewin G. Joel, Jr. Elementary 8:20 a.m. – 3:20 p.m. (includes a paid lunch) 7 paid hours/day
START DATE: As soon as possible
QUALIFICATIONS/CERTIFICATION:
Minimum educational requirements: Associate’s Degree or completion of 60 college credits or a passing grade on the ETS/ParaPro Assessment exam.
