SUMMARY

Flexible Metal Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for operating machine tools, such as lathes and milling machines, to produce precision parts according to technical drawings, blueprints, and CAD files. Maintain machines that production processes rely on, ensuring exceptional quality and operational efficiency. 


SCHEDULE: Monday - Thursday 6am - 4:30pm, overtime as required 


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 

  • Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD/CAM files to understand part specifications and production requirements.
  • Set-Up, operate and maintain a variety of conventional and CNC machine tools, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other general shop equipment.
  • Monitor production processes, making adjustments to feed and other settings as needed to optimize efficiency and accuracy.
  • Perform precision measurements and inspections using tools such as calipers, micrometers, and dial indicators to ensure parts meet strict tolerances.
  • Perform routine maintenance on machines to ensure longevity and optimal performance.
  • Collaborate with other team members to resolve production issues and improve manufacturing plans.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment in accordance with company policies.
  • Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
  • Other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of proven Machinist experience in small to large automotive supplier field.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in reading technical blueprints and detailed schematics.
  • Expertise in operating and setting up various machine tools, including manual and CNC equipment.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring tools and techniques
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, well organized and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of machine mechanics and the ability to use a variety of industry tools and machinery.
  • Experience with CNC machinery and CAD/CAM software.
  • Excellent mathematical skills to perform calculations, make precise measurements, and troubleshoot problems.
  • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • HAAS mill and Lathe programming preferred.
  • General knowledge of tube forming operations including: Bending, trimming, end forming, welding, and leak testing preferred.
  • Knowledge of KeyCreator, SolidWorks, and Mastercam design software a plus.
