Position: Licensed Assistant Health Center Manager - Colorado Springs

Full Position Salary Range: $43.24/hour - $54.77/hour

Starting Pay: Although our full pay range is included above, the budgeted hiring range for new hires is $43.24 - $49/hour

Schedule: Full-Time; ~37.5 hours/week; Benefits-Eligible

Abortion Care: At PPRM, we all work in abortion care. This role supports abortion care through direct clinical triage, patient education, and follow-up, ensuring timely and empathetic support to those navigating abortion services.

Snapshot: Assists the Health Center Manager (HCM) in supervising the daily functions of the health center. Partners with the site management team to aid in implementing and maintaining clinical and operational compliance in protocols and procedures for the health center. Acts as a supervisor to staff and an advocate for patients. Supports the operational oversight of the nearby health centers within the Pod. This position is hourly, non-exempt.

Our Ideal Candidate: 

  • Associate's degree in nursing required
  • Licensed as a registered nurse by the state board of nursing in all applicable states
  • BLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • ACLS certification within 30 days of hire
  • Previous experience with Planned Parenthood as an RN II or related nursing leadership experience required
  • Previous experience with IV therapy, intramuscular injections, venipuncture, patient assessment, medication administration, emergency management, and consultation with advanced practice providers
  • Previous experience with maintaining regulatory compliance required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Primary Areas of Responsibility/Essential Functions:

Clinical Management and Supervision

  • Leads team towards Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and monitors/motivates health center performance.
  • Directly supervises RNs. Supervision includes recruitment, onboarding, training, professional development, performance management, clinical audits, recognition, coaching and feedback, timesheet management, staff scheduling, and termination.
  • Conducts all supervisory responsibilities according to the requirements within the PPRM/Labor Union Collective Bargaining Agreement.
  • Facilitates briefs, huddles, debriefs, and staff meetings as indicated by the HCM.
  • Identifies and mitigates risks associated with employment laws such as discrimination and harassment in collaboration with the center manager and human resources department.
  • Reviews and documents employee performance during monthly check-ins and provides coaching and feedback.
  • Coordinates with QM and Credentialling on the privilege of staff, as well as annual clinical/performance reviews.
  • Ensures proper implementation and adherence to operational and regulatory compliance of policies and procedures and takes disciplinary action in coordination with HCM, when indicated.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty (MOD) during manager’s absence.
  • Identifies events that require incident reports and completes or delegates the completion of those reports when indicated.
  • Monitors health center flow through patient-centered care strategies that ensure quality patient care, timely appointments, minimized distractions, efficient processes, and engaged staff.
  • Oversees controlled drug program in collaboration with the site manager and the Clinical Quality Management (QM) department.
  • Informs and steps in to assist or manage instances of behavior escalation, suspicious encounters, and reportable abuse.

    Clinical Coverage (up to 25%)

    • Performs all applicable responsibilities of the RN role and steps into flow for services provided by the health center including abortion care and family planning when needed. This could include but is not limited to caring for patients by working the front desk, in the lab, billing verification, back office, and opening/closing duties.
    • Travels to all procedural abortion (PAB) sites to support other Health Center Managers with clinical operational oversight and tasks as required.
    • Recognizes when compliance is at risk and implements clinical and regulatory changes and improvements as needed to maintain proper compliance.
    • Responsible for monthly inventory counts for controlled drugs and submits on time to accounting.
    • Ensures supply stocks are always maintained according to policy and procedure to avoid unnecessary service interruptions.
    • Implements RN training program in coordination with Clinical Training Department and site manager.

    • Acts as an ambassador of house-wide initiatives, goals, and policies.
    • Participates in abortion services including, but not limited to coordinating referrals, scheduling visits, providing education & counseling, and contributing to care.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    COVID-19 Protocol: Vaccination against COVID-19 will no longer be a condition of employment. However, all Health Center/Patient or Community Facing Employees, must have the COVID vaccine or wear a mask at all times beginning November 1st. Proof must be uploaded upon hire.     Flu Protocol: All employees working directly with patients, the community or working in a health center will be required to have the flu shot or wear a mask during patient/community contact or while in the health center from November 1 – April 30 each year (Flu Season). Proof must be uploaded upon hire. You will upload a picture or pdf of your vaccination card(s) prior to your start date.
