Key Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment areas, patients, equipment, and materials under the supervision of licensed therapists.
- Assist in patient care, including applying heat/cold packs, guiding patients on exercise equipment, and monitoring progress.
- Provide comfort to patients, addressing concerns and answering questions.
- Educate patients on proper use of equipment and exercise routines as directed by therapists.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including sterilizing equipment and managing supplies.
- Monitor and report any concerns regarding patient safety during therapy sessions.
- Assist in transporting patients within the facility using wheelchairs and support during walking.
- Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing, and scheduling appointments.
- Manage supply inventory and equipment maintenance, ensuring functionality and reporting any issues.
- Occasionally be on-call for inpatient therapy on weekends.
- Order home equipment for patients post-surgery.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
- Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Must hold a current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or obtain it through the new hire process at Gritman Medical Center.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
- Must complete Gritman competencies.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations preferred.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals, including patients, therapists, and family members.
Functional Demands
- Population Served: Pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
- Physical Demands:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
- Ability to assist patients with mobility and use of therapy equipment.
- Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, and driving as required.
- Environmental Conditions:
- Indoor environment with exposure to bloodborne and infectious diseases.
- Potential exposure to hazardous fumes and environmental risks in patient homes.
