Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare treatment areas, patients, equipment, and materials under the supervision of licensed therapists.
  • Assist in patient care, including applying heat/cold packs, guiding patients on exercise equipment, and monitoring progress.
  • Provide comfort to patients, addressing concerns and answering questions.
  • Educate patients on proper use of equipment and exercise routines as directed by therapists.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including sterilizing equipment and managing supplies.
  • Monitor and report any concerns regarding patient safety during therapy sessions.
  • Assist in transporting patients within the facility using wheelchairs and support during walking.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as answering phone calls, filing, and scheduling appointments.
  • Manage supply inventory and equipment maintenance, ensuring functionality and reporting any issues.
  • Occasionally be on-call for inpatient therapy on weekends.
  • Order home equipment for patients post-surgery.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • Required Licenses/Certifications:
    • Must hold a current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification or obtain it through the new hire process at Gritman Medical Center.
    • Valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation.
    • Must complete Gritman competencies.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
    • Experience working with pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations preferred.
  • Skills & Abilities:
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a wide range of individuals, including patients, therapists, and family members.

Functional Demands

  • Population Served: Pediatric, adolescent, and geriatric patients.
  • Physical Demands:
    • Lifting up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
    • Ability to assist patients with mobility and use of therapy equipment.
    • Frequent standing, sitting, kneeling, and driving as required.
  • Environmental Conditions:
    • Indoor environment with exposure to bloodborne and infectious diseases.
    • Potential exposure to hazardous fumes and environmental risks in patient homes.
