Position Overview

BGB is seeking a visionary and commercially driven EVP, Market Access & Payer Marketing Practice Lead to oversee and grow our Market Access business within the Communications division. This executive will be responsible for achieving revenue and profitability targets, driving strategic innovation, and expanding BGB’s integrated communications offerings across Market Access, Medical Communications, and Advertising. This role is ideal for a dynamic leader with deep expertise in payer strategy, managed markets, and pharmaceutical commercialization, who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Growth

  • Lead the Market Access & Payer Marketing practice, setting the strategic direction and ensuring alignment with BGB’s broader Communications goals.
  • Own revenue and profitability targets for the Market Access business, including forecasting, budgeting, and performance tracking.
  • Identify and pursue new business and cross-selling opportunities within Medical Communications and Advertising practices to drive integrated growth across key accounts.

Client Engagement & Delivery

  • Serve as senior strategic advisor to clients, developing and executing market access strategies that align with brand objectives and payer needs.
  • Oversee the development of value propositions, payer messaging, and access tools including AMCP dossiers, PIE communications, and budget impact models.
  • Ensure excellence in client service, maintaining strong relationships across all levels of client organizations.

Practice Development & Team Leadership

  • Mentor and grow a high-performing team of account managers, strategists, creatives, and analysts across Market Access disciplines including value communications, HEOR, and patient access.
  • Foster collaboration across BGB’s integrated service lines, ensuring seamless delivery of strategic, medical, and creative solutions.
  • Champion BGB’s commitment to science-first communications, data-driven insights, and purpose-built programming.

Innovation & Thought Leadership

  • Stay ahead of evolving payer landscapes, regulatory shifts, and launch readiness best practices.
  • Represent BGB externally through thought leadership, including speaking opportunities, publications, and client engagement.
  • Drive innovation in access strategy, including digital enablement, predictive modeling, and AI-led scenario planning.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical market access, payer marketing, brand strategy, or account leadership.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale engagements and delivering measurable business impact.
  • Deep understanding of the U.S. market access landscape, including regulatory and compliance frameworks (AMA, PhRMA, FDA).
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing P&L for a business unit.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills.

 

Salary Range: $225,000 - $300,000

The salary range provided is for the NYC-hybrid position, which requires occasional in-office presence, and represents what a potential hire may expect to earn in this role at BGB. For candidates in other locations, salary will be adjusted to reflect local market rates. Actual salary decisions will be influenced by several factors that we use to determine overall fit, including experience (both direct and indirect), education, training, demonstrated qualifications, and organizational need. Salary is only one component of the total rewards package offered at BGB Group.
