About the Role:

As a Credentialed Vet Technician at South Towne Veterinary Hospital, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to animals and supporting veterinarians in their medical procedures. Your primary responsibility will be to assist in diagnosing and treating various animal health issues, ensuring that each patient receives the best possible care. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate medical records and managing inventory of medical supplies. This position requires a strong commitment to animal welfare and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Ultimately, your contributions will help enhance the overall health and well-being of the animals in our care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Completion of an accredited veterinary technology program.
  • Current veterinary technician credential (e.g., CVT, LVT, RVT).
  • Strong understanding of animal anatomy and physiology.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting.
  • Certification in specialized areas such as anesthesia or emergency care.
  • Proficiency in using veterinary software and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist veterinarians during examinations and surgical procedures.
  • Administer medications and vaccinations as directed by the veterinarian.
  • Perform laboratory tests and diagnostic imaging to aid in patient diagnosis.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the veterinary facility and equipment.
  • Educate pet owners on proper animal care and health management.

Skills:

The required skills for this position include a solid understanding of veterinary practices and procedures, which will be utilized daily when assisting with examinations and treatments. Strong communication skills are essential for effectively educating pet owners and collaborating with the veterinary team. We are looking to hire for a full time position (36-40 hours per week) We are open Monday-Saturday and closed on Sundays.
