Westminster Canterbury of Lynchburg, a 5-Star rated Continuing Care Retirement Community in Central VA is seeking a Social Worker/Volunteer Coordinator to join our Home Health/Hospice team!
Part-time position available candidate will need to have flexibility to work flexible hours around 24 hours per week with varying days and times.
The Social Worker/Volunteer Coordinator, who is a designated staff member, will exhibit knowledge and an understanding of the Hospice philosophy and will possess the ability to supervise and maintain a volunteer program.
Responsible for planning, organizing, documenting, and directing the comprehensive volunteer services program. Coordination duties include, but are not limited to:
On-going recruiting and training of sufficient numbers of volunteers to meet the needs of patients/families regardless of race, gender, age, creed, handicap, national origin, or sexual orientation. Provide support, supervision and evaluation of volunteers. Coordinate the utilization of volunteers with other members of the IDG. Review and revise written volunteer policies/procedures, in accordance with Hospice program regulations. Document services achieved through the use of volunteers, including the type of service and the time worke
Participate in the orientation, in-service and continuing education of hospice care staff as requested; keeping the staff current with changes in health care procedures and policies as needed as related to social work.
Complete hospice visits and on-call duties after normal business hours, on weekends, and holidays as needed or assigned.
Provides bereavement support to hospice personnel coping with work related grief through one-to-one counseling, supervision of interns providing one-to-one counseling, and referral to community resources.

Requirements
Position Requirements:
Human Services Related Degree preferred
Previous Volunteer and/or Hospice experience preferred.
