Job Overview: The EMK Turret Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a CNC turret punch press machine, primarily used to punch holes and create precise shapes in metal sheets by following blueprints and programming instructions, performing quality checks, and maintaining the machine to ensure efficient production of parts according to specifications.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Locating and loading raw materials onto turret press material loader with material handling equipment
- Selecting appropriate tooling based on the part design and inputting programming instructions into the machine to execute the required cuts and shapes
- Monitor the press during operation, ensuring accurate cuts and maintaining proper feed rates
- Regularly inspect punched parts for accuracy, dimensions, and surface quality, making adjustments to the program or tooling as needed
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to determine the correct punch sequence and tooling requirements for each part
- Perform routine cleaning and lubrication of the press, identify and report any machine malfunctions, and assist with minor repairs
- Maintain workflow, informing supervisor of delays resulting in downtime or unsatisfactory quality
- Removing parts from cut sheet metal
- Following all safety rules and maintaining a clean working environment
- Other duties as assigned

Shift and Schedule:
- Full-time, 10-hour shift
- 6:00am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday
- Saturdays, overtime as scheduled
Requirements
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates strong learning agility while being highly motivated to improve performance and knowledge
- Understanding of CNC programming language (G-codes and M-codes) to create and edit punch press programs
- Familiarity with machine operation, tooling principles, and basic mechanics
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality parts with precise tolerances
- Troubleshooting machine malfunctions and identifying solutions to production issues
- Accurately interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Ability to translate instructions into computer commands so machine can perform the correct function
- Ability to effectively communicate with programmers any programming problems that need adjusted
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and maneuver metal sheets
- Prolonged periods of standing
- Ability to reach various machine controls
