Chief Buildings is seeking a Custodian to join the Chief team. A full-time or part-time work schedule may be arranged according to the candidate's requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation across production offices, lunchrooms, conference rooms, and restrooms. You’ll also ensure proper collection and disposal of trash in accordance with facility procedures. This position plays a key role in keeping the manufacturing environment clean, safe, and orderly through routine cleaning and upkeep. To be successful in this position, you should have strong attention to detail, a proactive work ethic, and the ability to maintain high cleanliness standards in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Education:
High School Diploma, or GED, preferred.
Job Responsibilities:
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment by following safety procedures, identifying hazards, and supporting the facility’s safety program.
Clean production offices, restrooms, lunchrooms, and conference rooms using appropriate supplies and techniques such as sweeping, vacuuming, scrubbing, and waxing.
Requisition and manage cleaning and consumable supplies, ensuring proper storage and usage.
Perform minor maintenance tasks such as replacing light bulbs and basic plumbing repairs using hand tools.
Complete daily cleaning logs, supply usage records, and assist with tasks such as the daily mail run and stairwell cleaning.
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals and equipment, with knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
Basic familiarity with cleaning tools and equipment, typically gained through less than three months of on-the-job experience.
Experience in custodial or janitorial work, preferably in an industrial or office setting.
Basic maintenance skills and comfort using hand tools.
Physically able to climb stairs and perform manual tasks throughout the facility.
Strong attention to detail, time management, and communication skills.
Shift:
6:00am to 4:30pm
