Summary The Elementary Teacher is responsible for creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. The teacher will plan, implement, and assess standards-based instruction across core content areas, while fostering critical thinking, creativity, and collaboration. The teacher works in partnership with colleagues, families, and the school community to promote student success and uphold the mission of public education.
Essential Functions - Develop and implement daily lesson plans aligned to state standards and district curriculum.
- Provide differentiated instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students, including English Learners, students with disabilities, and gifted learners.
- Integrate reading, writing, mathematics, science, and social studies into meaningful, developmentally appropriate instruction.
- Establish a positive, inclusive classroom culture that promotes respect, responsibility, and a love of learning.
- Use formative and summative assessments to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress, behavior, and ways to support learning at home.
- Collaborate with grade-level teams, support staff, and administrators to enhance curriculum and instructional practices.
- Incorporate technology and innovative strategies to enhance teaching and learning.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
- Uphold all district policies, state regulations, and professional ethical standards.

- Bachelor’s Degree (BA) or higher in Elementary Education, Master’s Degree (MA) preferred.
- Excellent organizational skills to manage classroom activities, schedules, and resources efficiently.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: - Valid Arizona IVP fingerprint clearance card
- Valid Arizona Teaching certificate
- Valid SEI and K-5 Literacy Endorsements required
Clearances: - Measles/Mumps/Rubella Immunity/Vaccination
- Valid I-9 form.
- AZ Department of Public Safety IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Working Environment: The usual and customary methods of performing the job’s functions require the following physical demands; the employee is frequently required to sit; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Terms of Employment: Salary schedule commensurate with education and experience for this position

186 returning teacher contract - per the work calendar for this position.

Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the site administration in accordance with the Governing Board Policy.
