· Must be at least 21 years of age
· Pass Criminal Background Check
· Hold a valid Indiana Commercial Driver’s License Class A or B with P and S endorsement certification for air brakes from the State Bureau of Motor Vehicles
· Valid Yellow Card issued by the Indiana Department of Education
· Ability to effectively communicate with students, parents, and staff and deliver excellent customer service
· Must meet DOT requirements for physical exam and drug screenings
· Have the ability to conduct pre-trip, child find, and post-trip inspections utilizing bus technology
· The Bus Driver must have a clean Motor Vehicle History
Responsibilities:
· The driver must conduct the pre-trip inspection, child find, and post-trip inspections for each trip and report any findings to appropriate personnel.
· The driver will communicate with students, parents, colleagues, staff, and administration on a professional level.
· The driver shall be responsible for student discipline on the bus and work with administration to ensure due-process procedures are followed.
· The driver is to ensure the bus is operating safely and shall immediately contact the appropriate personnel to remedy the unsafe situation.
