Front of House (FOH) Manager

A Front of House Manager at Canada's leading casual dining restaurant, Boston Pizza, assists AGM with the Restaurant’s daily operations. This includes supporting the training, development, staffing, scheduling, and performance management of the Front of House team members. The Front of House Manager supports the team to ensure that our most important people, our Guests, and team members, have an excellent Boston Pizza experience from start to finish. They also demonstrate outstanding leadership abilities, believe in championing a fun and safe work environment, and contribute to thriving workplace culture.

What does a successful Front of House Manager look like?

  • Leadership & Staff Management

    • Provide hands on support FOH team during shifts

    • Lead pre-shift meetings, assign duties, and provide on-the-spot coaching. Promote a respectful and motivating workplace

    • Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training new staff

    Guest Service & Sales

    • Deliver exceptional service, resolve concerns quickly, oversee food and beverage quality, and drive upselling.

    • Engage with guests to build relationships that bring them back as regulars.

    Operations & Organization

    • Perform opening/closing duties, handle cash/tips, and manage POS accuracy. Verify accuracy of discounts, voids, and discrepancies

    • Maintain FOH cleanliness and readiness (dining room, bar, expo, washrooms, patios)

    • Step in during peak hours or staff shortages to keep service smooth

    • Support vendor relations and ensure FOH equipment is functional

    Inventory & Cost Control

    • Manage stock, reduce waste with proper rotation/portioning, and assist with accurate inventory counts and ensure accurate reporting

    Health, Safety & Compliance

    • Enforce food safety, hygiene, and emergency protocols while ensuring equipment is functional.

    Communication & Reporting

    • Share shift updates, improvement ideas, and collaborate with management on goals.

    Social Media & Community Presence

    • Create engaging posts, reels, and videos to promote specials, events, and community presence.

Qualifications:
  • 2 years management experience in a franchise or corporate restaurant.
  • Boston Pizza FOH experience strongly preferred.
  • Pro-Serve, First Aid, and Food Safety certifications required.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
