Job Description
Riceland Foods is hiring a Parboil Shipping Manager to lead, direct, and schedule parboil rice shipments out of our Jonesboro facility while upholding Riceland’s mission, vision, and values. The Parboil Shipping department produces bagged and bulk products that ship to customers worldwide. The basic functions of this position include: leading employees, scheduling production, adhering to safety and sanitation practices, and mentoring subordinates.
Preferrable candidates would possess the following skills:
• Leadership – Strong leadership, motivational to team members, able to set clear goals and expectations, provide guidance and support when needed. Effectively communicate and make challenging decisions when required.
• Problem Solving and Decision-Making Abilities – Critical thinking, including well informed decision making, situational analysis and making sound decisions under pressure. Ability to identify problems, provide solutions and effectively implement.
• Strong Interpersonal Skills – Interaction with team members, customers and occasional stakeholders is required. The ability to build positive relationships through effective interpersonal skills is required.
• Adaptability, Flexibility and Agility – Able to quickly adapt to new situations, handle unexpected changes and embrace innovation. Openness to new ideas, willingness to grow, learn and work through period uncertainty.

Job Duties
• Assign work tasks.
• Hiring of employees.
• Regulate work schedules.
• Instruct and train employees.
• Prepare KBI.
• Report Air Leaks weekly.
• Prepare department budget.
• Oversee cleaning and maintenance schedule.
• Oversee the ordering of supplies.
• Coordinate the movement of milled rice to other facilities for storage/shipments.
• Cost management.
• Respond to any customer complaints.
• Respond to all safety and sanitation inspections.
• Daily inspection of building and outside grounds.
• Work with vendors, contractors, and engineers on projects to upgrade equipment.
• Other duties may be assigned.
Supervisory Requirements
Manages four subordinate supervisors who supervise a total of 50 employees in the Parboil Shipping Dept. and Parboil Storage and Blending. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Education Requirements
One year certificate from college or technical school; or three to six months related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
