WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

The ideal Lift Maintenance Junior Mechanic for Bear Creek has the knowledge and skills to ensure safe operation of our ski lifts during scheduled hours, facilitating the opportunity for our guests to ski and board creating positive and memorable experiences. The successful team member will be able to work with their team as well as individually, be safety minded, have good communication skills, be detailed orientated and foster the Bear Creek culture by focusing on our guests. This position will be an important member of the Lift Maintenance team, supporting the safe operation of lifts and meeting all state requirements. The Lift Maintenance Junior Mechanic will focus on training and learning departmental procedures while supporting the Lift Maintenance Team.

WHAT WE EXPECT FROM YOU:

  • Install, maintain, repair and troubleshoot lift equipment.
  • Monitor lift equipment to ensure that it is operating properly and resolve or report any mechanical problems immediately.
  • Using diagrams and manufacturers' manuals, fit bearings, rebuild sheave trains, service grips and perform other mechanical procedures.
  • Coordinate activities with other work units or departments.
  • Become well versed in ANSI b77 2022 standard.
  • Ensure smooth operation of computer systems and software, lift equipment and machinery, and arrange for maintenance and repair work.
  • Complete daily, weekly and monthly maintenance logs.
  • Complete daily preoperational logs and closing procedures.
  • Monitor and maintain required signage.
  • Padding installation and removal.
  • Resolve equipment problems and prepare and submit progress and other reports.
  • Log all lift shut-down and mechanical failures and log all action taken.
  • Log all maintenance actions accurately with details, including the nature of the initial call.
  • Perform duties of Lift Operator and assist with Lift Operations as needed.
  • Knowledge of lift start up, lift shut down and standard lift operations procedures.
  • Maintain the loading areas of the lifts, including proper snow level and consistency within loading and unloading areas. This includes decking, carpet and rails.
  • Ensure that guests load and unload the lift safely and that each passenger has the proper ticket.
  • Snow relocating and snow removal with hand tools or machines.
  • Assist with emergency and evacuation procedures. (mechanical, electrical and rope)

  • Acknowledge all guests and respond promptly to their needs, however busy and whatever time of day. Ensure unresolved incidents are reported to Manager/Supervisor
  • Familiarity with all hotel services/features and local attractions/activities to respond to guest inquiries accurately
  • Contribute to the team's success by accomplishing tasks and assisting with projects as needed
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with departmental policies, service procedures, and standards
  • Work as a team member to ensure our guests have the best possible experience
  • Understand emergency procedures and be able to apply them when necessary
  • Report any incidents, property damage or injuries immediately to Manager/Supervisor
  • Attend department meetings and training sessions as necessary
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager and/or Supervisor
