MAIN FUNCTION: Meeting the needs of the community by developing and offering a multitude of health, wellness and safety programs.
- Supports all aspects of the Safe Kids Coalition
- Supports all children’s programs, assists with record maintenance & schedule coordination.
- Keeps current with safety issues that impact children and educates the community & staff
- Educates staff regarding SAFE KIDS initiatives & assists with training pertinent staff & volunteers for specific programs
- Assists with developing new programs in response to community needs
- Represents the Safe Kids Coalition on a State and National level.
- Assists with grant writing for all children’s programs and associated record keeping / documentation requirements.
- Assists with coordinating the annual children’s health, wellness and safety fair.
- Works with community members to offer health, wellness and safety programs as needed.
- Active member of the community children’s related committees
- Assists with conducting and coordinating annual events, in addition to children’s health fair.
- Assists with disseminating pertinent information to other Safe Kids Coalition members.
- Supports Child Passenger Safety
- Maintains all necessary certifications as a car seat technician
- Assists with coordinating all aspects of Car Seat Clinics
- Performs as a team player: demonstrating a willingness to take responsibility and be flexible as needed in order to ensure the smooth operation of the Community Outreach activities.
- Willing and able to work flexible hours under diverse conditions
- Ability to write grants and evaluations as needed
- Maintains responsibility for attendance/reliability to ensure that the Hospital is operated in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

EDUCATION:
- Bachelors’ degree in related field preferred
- State Certification of an approved Child and Infant First Aid Status or eligible
- State Certification in Car Seat Instillation or eligible
- National STAC Safe Transportation of All Children Program eligible
- BLS CPR Certified
EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in community outreach and human services
- Minimum of 2 years working with children of varying ages in program implementation
- Program development and implementation preferred
- Grant Writing skills a plus
