Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our multidisciplinary team specializing in the diagnosis and management of sleep disorders. This is an excellent opportunity to become a part of a patient-first clinical model that focuses on long-term wellness through better sleep and airway health. Providers in this role will evaluate, diagnose, and manage a range of sleep-related conditions while contributing to the education and empowerment of patients. This position will be located in Detroit, MI in our Sleep and Airway Medicine Centers (SAMC). 

  

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-depth clinical assessments including physical exams, patient history, and sleep-specific evaluations
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as sleep studies (home or in-lab polysomnography), oximetry, and related lab work
  • Initiate and monitor therapies such as CPAP/BiPAP, oral appliance therapy, and behavioral interventions
  • Provide follow-up care, adjusting treatment plans based on progress and compliance
  • Counsel patients and caregivers on the importance of sleep health, adherence, and long-term outcomes
  • Document patient encounters clearly and accurately within the EMR system in a timely manner
  • Collaborate closely with sleep physicians, dental assistants, dentists, treatment coordinators, and front office staff
  • Participate in care team meetings and case reviews to optimize patient outcomes
  • Engage in professional development to stay informed of advances in sleep medicine and evolving care standards
Requirements


  • Active licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
  • National Board Certification (AANP, ANCC, NCCPA)
  • Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred but not required)
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience required; background in internal medicine, family practice, ENT, pulmonology, or sleep medicine is a plus
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and team members
  • High level of comfort with EMR systems and digital workflows
  • Independent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and a proactive approach to patient care

Work Schedule & Clinical Expectations

  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8 AM – 5PM (no evenings or weekends)
  • Patient Volume: Up to 24 patients per day (mix of new consultations, follow-ups, and therapy titrations)
  • Environment: In-person, outpatient clinic settings across multiple sleep center locations
  • On-Call: None
  • Hospital Rounding: None
