Role Summary
Kickstart your career in Claims with our U-Excel comprehensive Claims Specialist training program. Join our team to learn how to review, analyze, and process claims with accuracy and compassion. You’ll help deliver on NLG’s promise to our policyholders by ensuring timely and fair resolution of claims, supporting our mission of customer care, protecting the company’s financial strength, and building long-term trust.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Review and verify claim submissions for completeness, accuracy, and required documentation.
- Analyze claim information under supervision to determine eligibility and appropriate next steps.
- Document case details thoroughly and accurately in claims systems to ensure timely processing and benefit payment.
- Communicate with claimants, beneficiaries, agents, and internal partners by phone, email, or mail to gather information and provide updates.
- Resolve routine claims-related questions using sound judgment and established guidelines.
- Manage a caseload of claims appropriate to training level, ensuring effective organization and timely follow-up.
- Participate in ongoing training to learn claims processes, tools, and systems, while building insurance product knowledge.
- Stay current with company policies, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Commit to professional development by engaging in industry learning opportunities and working toward relevant designations.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or 2 years of relevant financial and/or industry experience.
