POSITION SUMMARY:

The Aviation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the Flight Scheduling team and Crew Support functions within the aviation department. This role ensures efficient scheduling, compliance with regulatory standards, the enforcement of safety protocols, and continuous training and development of the team. The Aviation Supervisor will also handle escalations, perform audits, assist with process improvements, and play a key role in managing team performance.

RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following: 

  • Team Supervision: Oversee the Flight Scheduling team and Crew Support, ensuring the seamless coordination of flight crew schedules, adherence to safety protocols, and efficient operation of all related activities.
  • Escalations & Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for handling escalated issues, ensuring prompt resolution of scheduling conflicts, crew availability issues, and any other operational challenges that arise.
  • Compliance & Safety: Enforce regulatory compliance, internal policies, and safety standards, ensuring all aviation operations meet legal and operational requirements.
  • Auditing & Process Improvement: Conduct regular audits to assess operational efficiency, identify areas for improvement, and ensure alignment with established protocols. Assist in implementing process changes and driving continuous improvement within the team.
  • Training & Development: Lead the training efforts for new and existing team members, ensuring that all staff are properly educated on current procedures, safety practices, and operational software. Promote a culture of ongoing professional development and operational excellence.
  • Performance Management: Oversee performance reviews for team members, setting clear expectations and providing feedback on areas for growth. Coach and mentor employees to improve individual and team performance.
  • On-Call Support: Be available 24/7 for any urgent escalations or critical operational issues that may arise outside of normal business hours.
  • Process Changes & Enforcement: Assist with the introduction and enforcement of process changes within the team, ensuring consistent adoption and adherence to new practices

MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES 

This position manages the following positions on a daily basis. 

  • Flight Scheduling Team and Crew Support

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 + years of experience in aviation operations, flight scheduling, or crew management, with a strong understanding of industry regulations and standards.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS  

  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks, handle escalations, and remain composed under pressure.
  • Ability to stay calm and focused in high-stress or urgent situations, ensuring clear decision-making and effective resolution of issues.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety compliance and risk management in aviation.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Availability for on-call support as needed.
  • Previous experience in an aviation leadership role.
  • Familiarity with Myairops, Flightbridge, MySky, and JetInsight.
