Role Overview
As the Outsourcing Conduct Manager for the Western Region (France), the role holder will be responsible for overseeing and managing conduct risk and product governance across all lines of buinsess (Commerical, Personal Lines and Accident & Health) to ensure that our products, processes, and controls meet regulatory requirements and support good customer outcomes. This role requires a seasoned individual with deep expertise in conduct risk, product governance, and regulatory compliance, as well as experience in managing oversight functions in the insurance industry or broader financial sector.
To ensure that conduct standards, product governance requirements, and outsourcing controls are effectively implemented and embedded in the day-to-day business operations. This role sits in the first line of defence, directly supporting the business in meeting regulatory expectations (ACPR, IDD, Solvency II) and delivering good customer outcomes.
Role Purpose:
Working in the first line of defence, the role is essential in embedding of responsible, proportionate, and pragmatic conduct practices and governance across the business within the Western region. In support of the broader business strategy and growth aspirations the role will focus on the following key areas:
- Product Governance
Lead product governance for the Western region, overseeing the entire product lifecycle, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, company policies and customer-first principles. Specific tasks include:
o Product modifications to existing products;
o Localisation of new products approved by regional management;
o Completing an assigned set of product reviews from the CE portfoilio of products. for assigned products.
o Managing the monthly cadence of Product Council meetings with key business stakeholders
- Conduct Risk Management
Develop and execute conduct risk strategies for the Western region to monitor risk trends and conduct assessments to mitigate potential conduct related risks, acting as a key advisor to various stakeholders.
- Outsourcing and Delegated Underwriting Oversight
Lead outsourcing governance for delegated and limited delegated underwriting authority arrangements (DUA/LDUA). Serve as subject matter expert for onboarding and renewal of DUL/LDUA arrangements. Prepare the annual audit schedule and then manage the completion of audits with business stakeholders.
- Regulatory Change and Policy Implementation
Manage ad-hod conduct risk/product governance projects, lead the integration of new regulatory requirements and corprate policies, and ensure alignment with EU and local regulatory standards applicable to France
- Reporting
Complete and submit regular and ad-hoc reporting to local and regional management as reqired. Present reports and findings as required.
- Action Tracking
Working alongside the regional Conduct team, manage the completion of open action with stakeholder. Monitor progress through to completion. Negotiate and agree replanning of actions where necessary. Report progress to the regional Conduct Team on a regular basis (monthly or more frequently).
- Ad-Hoc Tasks
Complete ad-hoc tasks as rassigned by Head of Conduct, Oversight & Customer Experience EMEA
Qualifications
Profile requirements :
Qualifications :
- A degree in Business Administrations, Business Studies, Finance or Accountancy, and Professional certification from a recognized body such as the International Compliance Association (ICA) or equivalent in France
Experience :
- Demonstrable experience in conduct risk management, compliance, or regulatory roles within insurance industry or financial services, with a strong focus on France. Similar experience relating to other European markets would be an advantage but not essential
- Demonstrable experience of product governance, conduct risk, and outsourcing in the French regulatory regime.
Knowledge (include languages):
- In-depth knowledge of conduct risk management principles, regulatory requirements, and best practices in product
- Comprehensive understanding of EU and France regulation as it pertains to the insurance sector, with specific focus on consumer regulation
- Familiarity with regulatory and consumer bodies and requirements in France (e.g. ACPR, DGCCRF).
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory guidance, conduct risk trends, and translate into actionable strategies
- French as a first language, with fluency in written and spoken English.
