SUMMARY:
Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, Sample Prep is responsible for working on composite materials and products to support quality lab testing.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepares samples to support Lab.
- Quality inspection of sample parts
- Operating power tools, bandsaw, miter saw and belt sander.
- Remove 6”x 6” samples daily from sample oven.
- Uses hand tools to loosen and tighten bolts, etc.
- Completes daily production processes.
- Maintain FIFO records.
- Works individually and in teams.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must be able to operate power tools, bandsaw, miter saw and belt sander.
- Must be able to use calipers, tape measure and ruler.
- Works well with multi-functional teams.
- Ability to perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with hand tools.
- Must have a positive attitude.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to lift, push and pull greater than 50 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
- Must be able to walk through a large manufacturing environment.
- Repetitive hand and arm movements.
- Occasional bending and twisting.
- Frequently moving about to accomplish tasks.
- Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be able to wear PPE as necessary (safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, etc.).
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Majority of work is performed in a manufacturing environment with noise levels within safety limits and acceptable lighting and temperature conditions.
WORK AUTHORIZATION/SECURITY CLEARANCE:
To conform to U.S. Government export control regulations and the Naval Nuclear Propulsion Information restrictions, applicant must be a U.S citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorization from the U.S. Department of State or Department of Commerce.
