Job Overview
As a Painter at Austin Proper Hotel, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the aesthetic appeal and overall ambiance of our hospitality environment. Your primary responsibility will be to apply paint, varnish, and other finishes to various surfaces, ensuring a high-quality and durable finish that meets our standards. You will collaborate closely with the design team to execute color schemes and designs that align with the vision of the property. Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence will be essential as you work to create inviting spaces for our guests. Ultimately, your work will contribute significantly to the guest experience and the reputation of Austin Proper as a premier destination in the hospitality industry.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a painter in a commercial or hospitality setting.
  • Knowledge of painting techniques, materials, and tools.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in painting or a related field.
  • Experience with decorative painting techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in painting.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and priming as necessary.
  • Select and mix paints to achieve desired colors and finishes.
  • Apply paint, varnish, and other finishes using brushes, rollers, and spray equipment.
  • Inspect completed work for quality and make touch-ups as needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, ensuring all tools and materials are properly stored.

The required skills for this position include a strong understanding of various painting techniques and the ability to select appropriate materials for different surfaces. Attention to detail is critical, as you will need to ensure that all work is completed to a high standard, with no imperfections. Time management skills will be essential, as you will often work on multiple projects simultaneously and must meet deadlines.
