Summary
Omnicell has a dynamic opportunity for a Sr. Manager, Pharmacy Operations to provide overall management and leadership in the successful achievement of Omnicell Specialty Pharmacy Services’ objectives. This role promotes a high and consistent level of quality, efficiency, and expense management. The Manager works collaboratively with peers and key departments to streamline processes, optimize workflows, and ensure adherence to regulations, accreditation standards, and internal quality standards.

- Provide departmental leadership and direction to build resource depth and maturity to meet support demands quickly and skillfully
- Continuously evaluate processes to improve workflow, quality, and efficiency for optimal patient outcomes
- Oversee medication dispensing programs, ensuring preparation, prescription filling, and computerized systems align with policies and procedures
- Develop and maintain standardized settings and processes within the pharmacy dispensing system to ensure quality standards are met
- Serve as gatekeeper for exceptions to standardized dispensing system settings and workflows
- Coordinate implementation and training for new processes and dispensing system enhancements
- Collaborate with departments such as Clinical, IT, and Implementation to ensure seamless integration and efficient operations
- Maximize productivity by aligning resources and skill sets to meet business demands
- Strengthen the Pharmacy Services team through effective hiring, professional development, and mentoring
- Model professionalism and sound business judgment
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration
- Supervise Operations Managers and Dispensing System Coordinator
- Stay current on best practices to drive innovation and improvement
Education and Experience
Basic Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Professional Healthcare Certification and 5 years of healthcare experience
- Minimum of 2 years of direct or indirect people management experience in a healthcare setting
- Active, non-expired License/Registration from the State Board of Pharmacy (if required by state)
- Active National Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) — PTCB or ExCPT accepted
- Up to date on all continuing education requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 2+ years of project management experience
- 2+ years of experience managing remote team members
- 2+ years of experience working with patient management programs or specialty pharmacy
- Experience working with healthcare IT systems, data platforms, or technology tools used in pharmacy operations
Competencies
- Knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations applicable to pharmacy practice
- Familiarity with workflow concepts in retail pharmacy
- Understanding of pharmacy dispensing system and workflow requirements
- Full comprehension of controlled substance regulations (DEA, state, and local)
- Knowledge of limited distribution processes for specialty pharmaceutical products
- Strong leadership capabilities, including:

- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Team management and project facilitation
- Effective prioritization and delegation
- Positive, professional demeanor and presentation in all interactions
Work Environment and Physical Demands
- Requires travel approximately 30–40% of the time
- Must reside within 30 minutes of a major airport
- Operates in a healthcare setting with frequent standing and walking to storage shelves and filling counters
- Regularly required to talk, hear, and distinguish colors and shapes
- Moderately active role requiring standing and walking for the duration of the shift, and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Must be able to handle stressful situations calmly and courteously
