Job Title: HR Supervisor

Reports to: Director, Human Resources | Direct Reports: HR Support Staff

God Restoring Order (GRO) Community is a mental healthcare provider that specializes in trauma recovery services for males of color ages 5 and up. GRO services are grounded in an understanding of the neurological, biological and psychological effects of trauma. GRO services include mental health and wellness, stress management, and community outreach.
Position Summary:
The HR and Talent Supervisor will provide day-to-day oversight of the Human Resources department and serve as a key support to the HR Director. This role is responsible for supervising HR support staff (HR Coordinator, HR Generalists, and other designated team members), ensuring timely execution of HR operations, and maintaining compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and applicable laws. The HR Supervisor will act as a liaison between staff and leadership to ensure effective communication, consistent service delivery, and a positive employee experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Department Oversight
- Supervise daily HR operations, including recruitment, onboarding, new hire orientation and benefits administration.
- Provide direction, coaching, and support to HR Coordinators, Generalists, and other support staff.
- Ensure all HR support tasks are completed accurately, timely, and in alignment with organizational and departmental standards.
Talent Acquisition & Development
- Oversee recruitment processes, ensuring timely and effective hiring for open positions.
- Partner with managers to forecast staffing needs and align recruitment strategies with organizational goals.
- Support employer branding, sourcing, and selection to attract diverse, qualified candidates.
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation to create a strong employee experience.
Staff Supervision & Development
- Monitor workload distribution among HR support staff.
- Assign workloads, monitor progress, and evaluate staff performance.
- Conduct regular check-ins, team meetings, and performance evaluations for direct reports.
- Mentor and develop HR team members to build skills and career growth.
Support to HR Director
- Assist the HR Director with departmental planning, process improvement initiatives, and policy development.
- Prepare reports, metrics and data analysis to support decision-making (e.g., turnover, retention, time-to-fill, compliance audits).
- Serve as acting lead in the HR Director’s absence, ensuring continuity of HR services.
Employee & Management Support
- Respond to HR inquiries from staff and managers with professionalism and confidentiality.
- Support in corrective actions under guidance of the HR Director.
- Support in employee morale and engagement initiatives with team and leadership

Work Setting:
- Office Setting Environment
- Monday- Friday; 9a-5p schedule
- Optional (1) work from home day at successful completion of probationary period, if applicable
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required (or equivalent experience).
- 3–5 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 1–2 years in a supervisory or lead role.
- Strong knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
