We would like to announce the opening of a Temporary Level 2 Paraeducator position in the Castle Rock Preschool/ECEAP Program. This position will be four hours per day, four days per week for the remainder of the 2025-2026 school year. Previous successful experience working with special education students with challenging behavior(s), Right Response training, and knowledge and understanding of students with high needs is preferred for the position. The position may also require feeding, dressing, toileting, and diapering. Complete job duties may be located in the position description listed below. The successful candidate must possess an Associate's Degree, or two years of college-level coursework, or pass a rigorous assessment (ParaPro).

General Responsibilities:
Under the general direction of the program leads and the Special Education teacher, this position will be in the Castle Rock Preschool/ECEAP Program. The paraeducator assists with instructional and non- instructional activities; works in the classroom to correct, improve and reinforce skills of students with various disabilities; assesses and records student progress, and manages resources . Essential functions include, but not limited to:
Essential Functions:
1. Facilitates alternative methods of communication for non-verbal student(s).
2. Works independently with student(s) as directed by the teacher.
3. Assists student(s) in carrying out self-care activities such as feeding, dressing, toileting, and diapering.
4. Practices ethical and professional standards of conduct, including the requirements of confidentiality.
5. Communicates with colleagues, follows instructions and uses problem solving and other skills that will enable the paraeducator to work as an effective member of the instructional team.
6. Provides positive behavioral support and management.
7. Applies knowledge of the elements of effective instruction to assist teaching and learning as developed by the certificated/licensed staff in a variety of settings.
8. Utilizes appropriate strategies and techniques to provide instructional support in teaching and learning as developed by the certificated/licensed staff.
