12-months 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. Working hours can vary greatly and work outside of these core hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends will be required.

Group 7 from $22.63 to $28.14 per hour
Position Summary: Responsible for the cleaning and maintenance of facilities, supervision of seasonal and contracted custodial staff, and care of the grounds at Bluestem Center for the Arts and Trollwood Performing Arts School.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Communicates, collaborates, and cooperates with colleagues, supervisors, facility administration, students, programming, mainstage musical and concert staff. Responsible for cleaning Bluestem property in a timely and efficient manner, preparing the facility for Trollwood programming, events, rentals, and general use. Working with appropriate district staff, responsible for seasonal preparation of all buildings and grounds at Bluestem Center for the Arts. Assists rentals manager, faculty, and other Trollwood staff with facility needs, making sure they have the necessary facilities resources. Is responsible for and instructs and supervises custodial staff on all cleaning and setup needs of the facility, while assisting them with these duties. Responsible for knowledge of all custodial chemicals and procedures, as well as maintaining an adequate inventory of these supplies. Maintains and makes minor repairs as necessary to custodial equipment. Responsible for building security. Submits work orders in the areas of custodial operations, facility and grounds maintenance. Operates and maintains grounds equipment for a 60 acre site, including a large commercial 16 ft. cut mower. Front mount tractors with a 6 ft. mowing deck, 5 ft. rotary broom, and 4 ft. snow blower attachment. Gasoline powered golf carts. Walk-behind gasoline powered snow blowers, lawn mowers, and weed trimmers. Truck mounted snow plow. Bobcat skid-steer with pallet forks for lifting items onto the stage. Bucket truck for maintenance of site lighting. Must be proficient in backing up a truck and trailer and a large cube van utilizing the vehicle’s mirrors. Works with hand tools and operates power tools. Will participate in all necessary and required training for operation of grounds equipment. Meets regularly with administration to update administration on facility needs and concerns. Position is susceptible to emergency call-back when necessary. Works in a safe manner and follows district safety guidelines. Substitutes for other district employees when needed. Participates in all mandatory training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district. Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises and schedules custodial staff, including seasonal maintenance staff and contracted cleaning staff.
Qualifications: High school diploma or GED. Knowledge of custodial supplies, procedures, and equipment. Computer experience required. Strong work ethic matched with the ability to be motivated in achieving the mission and goals of the organization. Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license. Large venue maintenance experience preferred. Language Skills: Ability to effectively communicate with all customers. Ability to write and keep track of schedules and meet deadlines with severe time constraints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and fingers to feel objects, controls, equipment, and to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must frequently squat, stoop or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward. The employee continuously uses hand strength to grasp tools and climb ladders. The employee will frequently bend and twist at the neck and torso while performing job duties. The employee must frequently lift or move items weighing up to 50 lbs. And will occasionally lift or move items up to 100 lbs. The employee will occasionally work at a height of up to 50 ft. The employee will sometimes push or pull items such as custodial equipment, furniture, bleachers, and portable staging. The employee will regularly work indoors and outdoors. The noise level in the workplace is usually moderate to loud.
